Allied International Credit keeps calling my job even after I said stop – what worked for me

I never thought I would be the person posting about debt collectors, but here I am. Allied International Credit has been non stop for weeks over a medical bill I honestly forgot about. At first it was just my cell phone. Then they started calling my workplace.

I told the representative clearly "do not call me at work again." They said okay. Then they called the very next day. The receptionist actually transferred the call to my desk in front of other people. I was humiliated.

I tried ignoring them. That just made them call more. Some days it was 7 or 8 calls starting at 7:45am. I felt like I couldn't even answer my own phone anymore.

What finally helped was something I found online. I learned that once you tell a collector to stop contacting you at work, they legally have to stop. Continuing to call your job is actually a violation. I also learned they can't call before 8am or after 9pm in your timezone.

So I started documenting everything. Screenshots of my call log. Saved voicemails. Wrote down dates and times and what each agent said. Then I sent a certified letter telling them to stop contacting me entirely except in writing. I also filed complaints with a few consumer agencies.

But honestly the thing that actually made the calls stop? Get a consumer protection lawyer involved. The lawyer sent one letter and within maybe 3 days the calls dropped to almost nothing. I wish I had done it months earlier.

If you are dealing with these guys, do not just take it. Keep records and know your rights. Happy to share more details if anyone needs.
