This is a hagfish. They are very slimy creatures found in the deep sea. They are so slimy, in fact, that they tie themselves into knots to remove the excess slime. The hagfish like to feed on rotting sea life, and will sometimes burrow inside a whale or shark corpse to live there. They are commonly eaten in Asian countries such as Korea. If you want to catch some hagfish, go ahead, there aren't many regulations around it.
