From July to October, wharves*, breakwaters and piers across the Island are excellent places to fish for mackerel, flounder, smelts and striped bass. These fisheries are regulated by the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans - Recreational Fishery(link is external). All catch and licensing questions should be directed to them.
