What Happens If You Take Two Super Avana Tablets in 24 Hours?
Quote from teropex on July 18, 2026, 2:15 pmPatients asking what happens if I take two Super Avana tablets in 24 hours should treat the situation as a potential medication overdose rather than a routine dose adjustment. Super Avana is commonly marketed as containing 100 mg of avanafil and 60 mg of dapoxetine per tablet. If the labeling is accurate, two tablets could expose the patient to 200 mg of avanafil and 120 mg of dapoxetine. Both ingredients are intended to be taken no more than once within 24 hours, and the dapoxetine exposure would be twice the highest authorized single dose used in countries where dapoxetine is approved.
The Direct Answer
Taking two Super Avana tablets in one day can make adverse effects more frequent, intense, and unpredictable.
Possible effects include:
severe headache;
facial flushing;
nasal congestion;
nausea or vomiting;
diarrhea;
dizziness;
fainting;
low blood pressure;
rapid or irregular heartbeat;
blurred or abnormal vision;
agitation or tremor;
serotonin-related toxicity;
an erection lasting four hours or longer.
A person who has already taken two tablets should not take any additional erectile-dysfunction, premature-ejaculation, antidepressant, or recreational sexual-enhancement product.
Medical advice should be obtained promptly from a local poison center, pharmacist, prescribing clinician, urgent-care service, or emergency department. Emergency help is required immediately when serious symptoms are present.
Why Two Tablets Are Not a Normal Dose Increase
Approved avanafil treatment can sometimes be adjusted from 100 mg to 200 mg as one medically selected dose. However, approved labeling still limits avanafil to one dose per day and instructs clinicians to use the lowest dose that provides benefit. A supervised 200 mg avanafil dose is not equivalent to taking two unapproved combination tablets several hours apart.
Super Avana also contains dapoxetine. In authorized dapoxetine treatment, the usual starting dose is 30 mg, with an increase to 60 mg only when the lower dose is insufficient and tolerated. Dapoxetine must not be taken more than once every 24 hours.
Taking two tablets therefore does not merely increase avanafil. It also creates a nominal dapoxetine dose of 120 mg, which is above the standard maximum single dose.
Why the Timing Between the Tablets Does Not Make It Safe
Some patients assume that taking one tablet in the afternoon and another at night is safer than swallowing both together.
This is unreliable because the first dose may still be active when the second is absorbed. The drugs do not need to be swallowed simultaneously for their exposure and adverse effects to overlap.
Risk may be especially high when:
the second tablet is taken only a few hours after the first;
a heavy meal delayed absorption of the first tablet;
alcohol was consumed;
the patient takes interacting medication;
liver or kidney clearance is reduced;
the product contains more active ingredient than stated.
A delayed erection after the first tablet does not mean the medicine has left the body.
What Excess Avanafil Can Do
Avanafil is a PDE5 inhibitor used to improve penile blood flow during sexual stimulation.
Excessive exposure may increase systemic blood-vessel dilation and cause:
strong headache;
facial flushing;
nasal congestion;
dizziness;
weakness;
low blood pressure;
fainting;
rapid heartbeat;
visual disturbances;
prolonged erection.
Approved avanafil labeling limits use to once daily and warns that the drug can contribute to hypotension when combined with alpha-blockers, antihypertensive medication, or substantial alcohol.
What Excess Dapoxetine Can Do
Dapoxetine is a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor used in some countries for premature ejaculation.
Taking more than the recommended dose may increase:
nausea;
vomiting;
diarrhea;
headache;
dizziness;
sleepiness;
agitation;
tremor;
abnormal heart rate;
fainting;
low blood pressure when standing.
The authorized patient information specifically says to contact a doctor or pharmacist after taking more dapoxetine tablets than directed. It notes that nausea and vomiting may occur after excessive use.
Fainting Is a Major Concern
Dapoxetine can cause dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, and syncope even at standard doses.
Avanafil can also lower blood pressure. Taking excessive amounts of both ingredients may therefore produce an additive effect.
Warning signs before fainting can include:
lightheadedness;
nausea;
sweating;
blurred vision;
weakness;
confusion;
an abnormal heartbeat;
symptoms that appear after standing.
A person who feels faint should immediately lie down with the head lower than the rest of the body or sit with the head between the knees. Standing or walking can lead to a fall and serious injury. Authorized dapoxetine instructions recommend this positioning and advise avoiding driving or dangerous machinery when affected.
Alcohol Can Make the Situation More Dangerous
Alcohol should be avoided after an excessive Super Avana dose.
Alcohol may:
worsen dizziness;
increase dehydration;
impair judgment;
lower blood pressure;
increase fainting risk;
make an erection harder to maintain;
obscure worsening neurological symptoms.
Dapoxetine product information warns that alcohol increases alcohol-related impairment and the possibility of injury from fainting. Avanafil labeling also warns that substantial alcohol consumption may contribute to hypotension.
Alcohol should not be used to calm anxiety, improve erection quality, or counteract medication effects.
Serotonin Syndrome Is a Possible Emergency
Dapoxetine increases serotonin signaling. Excessive exposure becomes more concerning when another serotonergic medicine or substance is also present.
Potentially interacting substances include:
SSRIs;
SNRIs;
tricyclic antidepressants;
monoamine oxidase inhibitors;
tramadol;
linezolid;
lithium;
St. John’s wort;
some migraine medicines;
MDMA and certain other recreational drugs.
Authorized dapoxetine information specifically lists antidepressants, tramadol, lithium, linezolid, St. John’s wort, and selected migraine medicines among combinations that should be avoided.
Possible serotonin-syndrome symptoms include:
agitation;
confusion;
fever;
heavy sweating;
diarrhea;
tremor;
muscle rigidity;
jerking movements;
abnormal reflexes;
rapid heartbeat.
These symptoms require emergency medical assessment.
A Prolonged Erection Requires Emergency Treatment
An erection that remains rigid for four hours or longer is a medical emergency.
Taking extra avanafil may increase the risk of prolonged erection, particularly when another PDE5 inhibitor or sexual-enhancement drug has also been used.
Emergency treatment should not be delayed until the erection becomes severely painful. Prolonged pressure can damage penile tissue and cause permanent erectile dysfunction.
Approved avanafil labeling instructs patients to seek emergency treatment for an erection lasting more than four hours.
Chest Pain Requires Special Caution
A person who develops chest pain after taking Super Avana must not self-administer a nitrate medicine unless emergency professionals who know about the recent avanafil exposure specifically direct treatment.
Avanafil is contraindicated with:
nitroglycerin;
isosorbide mononitrate;
isosorbide dinitrate;
other organic nitrates;
recreational nitrites known as poppers.
The combination can cause a sudden and dangerous fall in blood pressure. It may lead to fainting, myocardial ischemia, heart attack, stroke, or another severe cardiovascular event. Approved avanafil labeling also contraindicates use with guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat and vericiguat.
Emergency clinicians should be told:
that Super Avana was taken;
how many tablets were taken;
the approximate time of each dose;
the strength shown on the package;
whether any other ED drug was used.
Do Not Take Viagra, Cialis, or Another ED Medicine
After taking two Super Avana tablets, the patient must not add:
sildenafil;
tadalafil;
vardenafil;
additional avanafil;
another Super Avana tablet;
an unregulated sexual-enhancement supplement.
Combining PDE5 inhibitors can further increase:
low blood pressure;
dizziness;
fainting;
headache;
visual symptoms;
priapism.
A weak erection does not show that the drugs are absent from the bloodstream. Severe vascular or neurological erectile dysfunction may prevent a useful erection even while excessive drug levels are producing systemic adverse effects.
Blood Pressure Medicines Can Increase the Risk
Avanafil may intensify the effects of antihypertensive medication.
Particular caution is required with:
alpha-blockers such as tamsulosin or doxazosin;
several-drug hypertension regimens;
other vasodilators;
medication taken for pulmonary hypertension.
Approved avanafil labeling recommends beginning at 50 mg when a patient is stable on alpha-blocker treatment. Two Super Avana tablets could nominally provide four times that starting exposure.
Symptoms suggesting clinically significant hypotension include:
severe lightheadedness;
inability to stand;
fainting;
confusion;
pale or clammy skin;
unusual weakness;
chest discomfort.
CYP3A4 Inhibitors Can Raise Avanafil Exposure
Avanafil is mainly metabolized through CYP3A4.
Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors can greatly increase its concentration and are not supposed to be used with avanafil. Relevant examples include some:
azole antifungals;
macrolide antibiotics;
HIV treatments;
antiviral medicines.
Approved avanafil labeling prohibits use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors. With a moderate inhibitor, the avanafil dose should not exceed 50 mg within 24 hours.
Two tablets marketed as containing 100 mg each would be particularly dangerous in this setting.
Why Heavy Food Does Not Justify a Second Tablet
A heavy, fatty meal can delay absorption of avanafil. The first dose may appear ineffective during the expected window even though it has not been lost.
Taking a second tablet can create a delayed overlap:
The first tablet remains in the digestive system.
The second tablet is swallowed because the first appears ineffective.
Digestion progresses.
Both doses enter the bloodstream within an overlapping period.
Adverse effects become stronger than expected.
Food-related delay should be managed by waiting, not by redosing.
Product Quality Makes the Risk Less Predictable
Super Avana is not an FDA-approved fixed-dose product. Tablets obtained through unverified sellers may have uncertain:
active ingredients;
ingredient strengths;
purity;
dissolution;
storage history;
manufacturing consistency.
Two tablets labeled 100 mg/60 mg may not necessarily provide exactly 200 mg of avanafil and 120 mg of dapoxetine.
They could contain:
less active medication;
more active medication;
uneven amounts between tablets;
another PDE5 inhibitor;
undeclared serotonergic drugs;
degraded ingredients.
Uncertain product quality does not make double dosing safer. It makes the resulting exposure more difficult to predict.
What to Do Immediately After Taking Two Tablets
A person who has taken two Super Avana tablets should:
Take no more Super Avana.
Take no other ED or premature-ejaculation medicine.
Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs.
Do not drive or operate machinery.
Remain with another responsible adult when possible.
Keep the product packaging available.
Contact a local poison center, pharmacist, clinician, or urgent-care service promptly.
Call emergency services if serious symptoms occur.
Do not wait for severe symptoms before obtaining advice when the dose, product strength, timing, or interactions are uncertain.
Do Not Induce Vomiting
Vomiting should not be induced unless a poison-control specialist or medical professional specifically instructs it.
Attempting to cause vomiting may:
increase aspiration risk;
cause injury;
worsen dehydration;
trigger fainting;
provide little benefit after absorption has begun.
Activated charcoal or another decontamination measure should only be considered by professionals based on timing, symptoms, and individual risk.
Information to Give Medical Professionals
Be prepared to provide:
exact product name;
claimed strengths;
number of tablets taken;
time of each dose;
age and approximate weight;
current symptoms;
blood pressure when available;
prescription medicines;
supplements;
alcohol or recreational-drug use;
history of fainting, heart disease, liver disease, or kidney disease.
A photograph of the package or the remaining tablets may help identify the claimed formulation.
Symptoms That Require Immediate Emergency Help
Call emergency services immediately for:
chest pain;
fainting or collapse;
severe breathing difficulty;
seizure;
severe confusion;
extreme agitation;
high fever with tremor or muscle rigidity;
sudden vision loss;
sudden hearing loss;
profound weakness;
an abnormal or very rapid heartbeat;
facial or throat swelling;
an erection lasting four hours or longer.
The patient should not drive to the hospital when dizzy, faint, confused, visually impaired, or experiencing chest symptoms.
What If No Symptoms Appear?
The absence of immediate symptoms does not guarantee that no problem will develop.
Effects may be delayed when:
the tablets were taken after food;
the two doses were separated by several hours;
digestion is slow;
another medicine changes metabolism;
the product has an unusual release pattern.
Continue following professional advice and do not take another dose later that day.
Mild symptoms can also worsen as both doses reach higher concentrations.
Can Two Tablets Cause Permanent Damage?
Most patients who receive timely assessment and do not develop a serious complication may recover without permanent harm.
Permanent injury is possible when an excessive dose contributes to complications such as:
prolonged untreated erection;
severe hypotension;
trauma caused by fainting;
a cardiovascular event;
serious vision loss;
serious hearing loss;
severe serotonin toxicity.
The risk cannot be predicted from the number of tablets alone. Medical history, interacting substances, actual tablet contents, and treatment delay all matter.
Why One Tablet May Already Be Too Much
Even one commonly marketed Super Avana tablet may not be appropriate for every patient.
A fixed 100 mg/60 mg combination provides:
the usual avanafil starting dose;
the highest authorized dapoxetine dose rather than the usual 30 mg starting dose.
The tablet does not allow separate reduction of either ingredient.
A patient who needs 50 mg of avanafil because of an alpha-blocker cannot obtain that dose from the combination. A patient who should begin with 30 mg of dapoxetine is immediately exposed to 60 mg.
This lack of dose flexibility is one reason the fixed combination should not be used without professional evaluation.
The Practical Bottom Line
Taking two Super Avana tablets within 24 hours can produce excessive exposure to both avanafil and dapoxetine.
If each tablet contains the commonly marketed 100 mg/60 mg combination, two tablets could provide approximately 200 mg of avanafil and 120 mg of dapoxetine. Although 200 mg exists as an approved avanafil-only dose for selected patients, avanafil remains limited to once daily, and 120 mg of dapoxetine exceeds the highest standard single dose.
Possible consequences include severe headache, nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, fainting, abnormal heartbeat, serotonin-related toxicity, visual symptoms, and an erection lasting four hours or longer.
Anyone who has already taken two tablets should take no additional sexual-performance medication, avoid alcohol, refrain from driving, and contact a poison center or healthcare professional promptly. Chest pain, fainting, severe confusion, seizure, breathing difficulty, sudden vision or hearing loss, serotonin-syndrome symptoms, or a prolonged erection requires immediate emergency care.
